Under these exceptional circumstances, our priority is to prevent further risk for the people around us and with whom we work: nearly 1 000 employees of the CSTB and its subsidiaries, 6 000 clients and partners, 2 500 suppliers and sub-contractors. We shall all comply fully with the measures announced by the President of France.
Meet the CSTB at Equipbaie 2018
The CSTB guides industry stakeholders as they mobilize for the quality, sustainability and comfort of buildings. From November 20th to 23rd, experts from the CSTB's Windows & Glazing as well as Safety, Structures & Fire Performance departments will be at the Equipbaie international trade fair in Paris, at Porte de Versailles.
Behind the scenes at the Silver BIM Awards 2018: the Jardins de l'Arche Tower in La Défense with the CSTB
The winner of the Silver BIM Award 2018, the Jardins de l'Arche tower in La Défense, will feature three hotels, offices and an observation platform at the top, by 2022. With its 54 floors, standing 200 meters high, this project won in the category of new construction projects with an area of more than 40,000 square meters.
The CSTB's expertise supporting the Montpellier Sud-de-France train station
Comprising a roof made of ultra-high performance fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC), with an openwork pattern of 10,000 glazed openings, the new train station in Montpellier is a technical and architectural innovation designed by Marc Mimram.

The CSTB awaits you at BATIMAT for a week of appointments, talks and demonstrations. CSTB experts will be present every day to inform and advise stakeholders in the building sector, with a focus on the major challenges facing the industry, and the CSTB’s specialist areas: digital technology, energy and environmental performance, innovation, health & comfort in buildings, materials and equipment, etc.
Greywater recycling: from concept to assessment
In October 2015, WisElement, a VSE, took advantage of the CSTB’s innovation advisory and support service, Ariane. Since then, it has been advancing step-by-step to increase the reliability of its innovative device for the instant recovery of heat from shower greywater. In 2016, the CSTB initiated a study of the technical and regulatory aspects of the innovation in the concept phase. The results may support a request for Technical Approval in 2017.
Stepped timber frame with invisible seams
Wooden beams make up the stepped structure of the huge roof covering the Aqualagon, the future water park of Marne-la-Vallée. The beams were made by Arbonis, using an innovative assembly technique, which received a favorable ATEx assessment in early 2016.
Insulated concrete form walls: four technological leaps supported by the CSTB
2016: The industrial companies GBE and Lafarge received a Technical Approval for a cast-in-situ wall with integrated insulation and concrete skin. This system has just taken its fourth technological leap, 20 years after the emergence of the first solution of its kind on the market. The CSTB has supported the advancement of this innovation since its beginnings. Working alongside the stakeholders through the assessment procedure, the CSTB helps ensure the safety and stability of their system.
